Return Policy

Returns must be made at the customers expense. Returns can be made within 14 days of delivery date for items that are placed online and shipped to you. Returns past the 14 day mark will not be accepted. Returns past the 14 day delivery mark that are shipped back to the store will be discarded. Any returns must include the original packing slip.
40 Oak Boutique is not responsible for return shipping fees.
Original cost of shipping is not refunded. 

Once orders are placed online they cannot be canceled or altered in any way. We cannot add a discount code after order is placed.

Returns will be issued as a store credit in the form of a gift card, and will be emailed to you at the address provided at checkout. If an email address is not provided it will be mailed to you by USPS.

At this time, we do not offer exchanges. If you would like to get an item in another size, we recommend you send the item back for store credit and place a new order once you receive your gift card via email, or regular mail if an email address is not provided. We do not hold any merchandise. All items are on a first come first serve basis. 

Any damaged items must be reported via email within 2 days after delivery date and must be reported prior to wearing the item. 

 What CAN be returned:

*items that are unworn, unwashed and have tags attached

*Items free of perfume, cigarette smoke, pet hair, food odors or stains of any kind.

*items purchased at regular price (no sale items or discount codes)

*items within the 14 day return policy

Exceptions / non-returnable items
All accessories including jewelry, handbags, hats and scarves and bodysuits are non refundable. 

 If you send back an item that is not eligible for return, your return will be discarded after 30 days. You can call the the store at 908-295-2271 before the 30 days is up and pay the $7.95 return shipping fee and we can mail it back to you.

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS AT TIME OF CHECKOUT!  Once we ship a package, we can not change the delivery address. You will be charged $7.95 to reship your package once it is returned to us.

      ***WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PACKAGES LOST IN TRANSIT!!***     Once a package leaves our facility, it is in the control of the shipping company (we currently use the UNITED  STATES  POSTAL SERVICE). If your package is lost in transit, you must file a claim with your local post office. You will be provided with tracking info from us upon placing your order and providing your email. You will be able to track your package every step of the way and have full access to your tracking number and delivery information.
